Fabio’s Pizza made its way to the thrilling final showdown in Ontario’s Best Veal Sandwich competition, going head-to-head against returning champion Mettawas Station. As the runner-up, this St. Catharines favourite showcased its passion for Italian tradition and quality ingredients, earning a well-deserved place among the best. 

For over three decades, Fabio’s Pizza has been a beloved staple in St. Catharines, known for its authentic Italian flavours, warm hospitality, and deep community ties. The cozy storefront greets visitors with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread and simmering sauce, setting the stage for an exceptional culinary experience. 

While the restaurant bears the name of its founder and head chef, Fabio, the spotlight on their award-winning veal sandwich belongs to Joanne, Fabio’s wife. Rooted in family tradition, the recipe was passed down from Fabio’s mother, who taught Joanne how to bread the veal.  

Joanne’s veal sandwich is a testament to the beauty of simplicity and craftsmanship. Though pizza and other Italian classics remain popular, the veal sandwich is a standout. Primarily a takeout destination, the restaurant offers a few high-top tables for those who prefer to dine in, but most customers pick up their meals to enjoy at home.
